Thread: Streaming to foobar mobile from wireless external hard drives.

Streaming to foobar mobile from wireless external hard drives.

A major drawback of portable high res audio players is their very limited storage capacity. Now that tablets and phones are becoming available with sound cards supporting 192khz/24bit music, it would be great to be able to stream music from a partnered wireless external hard drive for foobar playback, without having to transfer the whole file over onto the tablet/phone. Has this already been proposed or done?
    Thanks.

I see there was a related thread about streaming from OneDrive from 3 years ago, that was not discussed further. http://forum.foobar2000.com/forum/sh...ows-Phone-8-1&. Whilst streaming from the cloud would undoubtedly by desirable, the ability to stream from a local battery powered wireless drive would also be important, as a means of avoiding ruinous data roaming charges for large high res audio files.
